This February, Yolaskitchen will be joining forces with Master Chef Daryl Shular, CMC to present the Motherland Private Soiree highlighting food from various regions throughout the continent of Africa. This event is a passport to experience five different food courses , mixologist demonstrations, signature cocktail tastings, and an international DJ. Come and explore the Motherland as Chef Shular will compose dishes from Nigeria, Ethiopia, Morocco, South Africa, and Congo.

Set to take place on the evening of Feb. 21st during Black history month, Chef Shular is the first ever Black person and minority to be a Certified Master Chef (see here: Master Chefs Order) and is committed to showcasing a menu that highlights his African roots.

Chef Shular has also developed his own culinary school, the Shular Institute, focused providing an education for students that allows them to graduate with little to no debt. Proceeds from this event will support the school and the Navigate Program, an organization created by Chef Simone Byron focused on workforce development for Atlanta teens. The Shular Institute & Chef Byron are committed to providing high-level hospitality and professionalism training for at risk Atlanta youth, securing the future of the food & beverage industry.

This immersive experience will showcase creative styles of food preparation and service while adhering to CDC protocols. Venue to also limit capacity, have sanitization stations available throughout, and require masks for entry. Also each food station will be attended to by a designated Chef to serve each guest. Additional COVID-19 safety measures and social distancing will be in place.
